Soylent Green - FilmFriday

This post is not necessarily a movie review but an opinion about the message within the film.

The movie was interesting, made in 1973, about the year 2022. Some notable actors are Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, and Chuck Connors, to just name a few. The acting and cinematography were typical for that year.

As I watched the film, I thought more about how easily the government, once it has complete control over the citizens, would seem almost impossible to regain control of the freedom one once had.

Without giving any spoilers about the film, I recommend watching it, and depending on where you live, try putting yourself in the events that transpire in the movie.

Could your government do this to your county?

How would you survive each and every day?

Could you fight back and regain the freedom you once knew?

July

The month of July - the month of America

We start the month with a bang in celebrating our independence from England.

Those early colonies didn't really know how great our country would be.  The United States has had its share of problems, but overall, it's still better than any free country worldwide.

If you are a citizen of the U.S., take some time this month to reflect and be thankful to be living in the United States.

God Bless America

Boycotting

Boycotting is a powerful statement of protesting.

It doesn't involve violence, or harm to anyone. It's merely the refusal to buy or support any product or service that goes against your moral values.  Within this blog, I have a short list of companies I boycott and companies I support.

More posts to come on boycotting is a topic that clearly makes the news, for example, Bud Light and the LA Dodgers baseball team.

This could be the summer of boycotting.

Bluebirds 23.9

This is the last picture because they are soon to fledge.

The picture was taken on June 19th.  I have been watching the nest and occasionally see one taking a look outside the box.

I'm unsure if there will be more nests after this, as the temperature here is getting into the 90s.

Political Moves

I live in a city where everyone from all over the United States seems to be moving here. I was born and raised in this city. Occasionally, when my wife and I are out and about, we will sometimes have conversations with people we meet, and it will come up in conversation. Where are you from? And our response is here. Their reply is no, where are you really from? And as we repeat ourselves, it seems hard to believe that they have actually met someone who is a native of the city.

I live in a conservative state but live in a liberal city. The problem is that so many people are moving to the city from other states that it drives the people who have lived here all their lives to leave.

I understand if you live in a state or city with political agendas against your values to move out. But this needs to be considered in political moves; if moving out to another town, one should assimilate into the culture of that area. Refrain from bringing the customs of your previous home state. So, why would one leave an area they hated and move to another only to create the same environment they just left.

Stop this insanity. If you are from the North and move to the South, you should assimilate to the South's customs and values.

Film Friday - Fight for Freedom

Braveheart (1995)

The Patriot (2000)

These two movies depict the convection of one man determined to fight for his country's freedom. His motivation is driven by his love for his family and their future.

As Americans we should always remember that freedom comes with a cost.

Hail Mary Prayer

Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Matthew 28: 16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee,

to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.

When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.

Then Jesus approached and said to them,

“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father,

and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

The Durham Report - Opinion

The Durham Report is finally out.

And everybody has an opinion about it including myself. This has been ongoing for the last 4 years. Initially, the left was ecstatic and glad it had finally occurred. The right said the Durham Report would not find anything, and this was a waste of time, just another dig at Trump. I was scanning some of the news channels this morning. The left needs to be more cohesive in their reporting. They seem to be lost for words to describe their disappointment. The right is saying we knew that the Durham report would not find anything.

What does all of this mean?

First, a waste of time. Anyone who would investigate Trump for 4 years would have done some initial background checks to see if this was worth the time and money.

Second, it shows that the progressives will go to any extent to ruin the former President. And this is not the end of Trump's investigations. The left will continue to create false investigations and report anything they could possibly find to be negative. This will not end until Trump is no longer a threat to the progressive movement. Also, along with all the news reports, someone is collecting and editing video and sound bites against Trump for the 2024 Presidential election.

The Freedom of the News Media

Freedom within the news media should be open to all points of view. Reporters should not be censored from the agenda of the media management. Reporters should be free to speak their minds without repercussions from those who hired them.

A few weeks ago, two prominent network reporters were fired. They had a large following. Both expressed their views from the conservative and progressive points of view. I'm not defending either one; each person should draw their own conclusion based on their values. My point is that freedom of speech in the press is critical.  The influence of media management on their employees should not be a factor. I realize it's all about profits, but we have to have news sources, and that news, whether right or wrong, is a mainstay for information.

Think about this moment; cut off all news sources (which we should occasionally do), no TV, radio, newspapers, or internet. Word of mouth would be the only way to know what is happening. The news at that point would have to be passed on from person to person. This example might seem extreme, but it demonstrates how much we rely on our news sources.

Today's news about the end of Title 42 is a critical piece of information. Why? Because it is estimated that 10,000 illegal immigrants will cross the southern border from now on. This week cities have reported preparing for the massive influx of illegals.

The news is a critical element of our daily life. We should always stay informed about current events because it will affect us in some way or another.

The End of Title 42

The End of Title 42 is a disaster for the United States.

Title 42, the public health policy that quickly expels border-crossers – imposed by then-President Donald Trump and continued under President Joe Biden – is set to expire May 11.

Once this expires, it is expected that 10,000 illegal immigrants will cross the border into the United States daily. News media reports these are people seeking asylum. My understanding of asylum-seekers is that immigrants are supposed to stop at the first country border and request asylum. But why is it that there are people from all over the world coming through Mexico? They have managed to maneuver around enough to find their way to the Mexico/United States border.

At the end of September 2022, the US Border Patrol recorded that 2.4 million illegal immigrants had crossed the United States. This number will expand even more after May 11th.

There are approximately 2,500 US troops at the border now, and 1,500 more troops are expected to arrive soon to assist in controlling the massive number of illegals crossing the US border.

Biden orders 1,500 more troops to Mexico border ahead of Title 42 ending | The Texas Tribune

We already have enough problems of our own this would not only overload the border states but will expand into all the states and small towns.

This seems to be flowing too well. How is it that those crossing the border have traveled thousands of miles, giving the appearance of having just stepped off a charter bus? I will tell you why. It is being funded by wealthy progressives on a mission to destroy the United States by overwhelming our local governments.

Watch and learn after May 11th. News reports from all over the United States will report cities being overrun by illegals.

May

The month of May

The beginning of a new month and the peak of the Spring season. Most will say it's the beginning of Summer, but I consider Summer in June.

I have always associated the month of May with Memorial Day and the celebration of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, within the Catholic church.  Also, with this time of the year, being outdoors is the goal, working around the yard, cutting grass and trimming bushes, and absorbing all the sunshine I can get. I'm going to try posting more pictures this spring/summer season.  I have recently published the progress pics of the Bluebirds.  But there is more to explore, so look for upcoming photos of the Great Outdoors.
