Opinion - Speech Rallies

As we approach the spring and summer months, more and more people will need to express their right to free speech, either from the progressive or conservative view. Which is the right of every U.S. citizen to do. And we equally have the right to disagree with the opinions of speech made in public. My issue is when speeches turn into rallies, rallies turn into marches, and marches turn into blocking the roads. The initial speech has infringed on my right to legally travel where I want to go.  But when law enforcement gets involved in breaking up the roadblocks, it turns into the suppression of free speech. No one has the right to block roads unless a parade permit is issued. This is not free speech. It is harassment to the general public.

Just my opinion, and mark this as a notice it's coming.

The Freedom of the News Media

Freedom within the news media should be open to all points of view. Reporters should not be censored from the agenda of the media management. Reporters should be free to speak their minds without repercussions from those who hired them.

A few weeks ago, two prominent network reporters were fired. They had a large following. Both expressed their views from the conservative and progressive points of view. I'm not defending either one; each person should draw their own conclusion based on their values. My point is that freedom of speech in the press is critical.  The influence of media management on their employees should not be a factor. I realize it's all about profits, but we have to have news sources, and that news, whether right or wrong, is a mainstay for information.

Think about this moment; cut off all news sources (which we should occasionally do), no TV, radio, newspapers, or internet. Word of mouth would be the only way to know what is happening. The news at that point would have to be passed on from person to person. This example might seem extreme, but it demonstrates how much we rely on our news sources.

Today's news about the end of Title 42 is a critical piece of information. Why? Because it is estimated that 10,000 illegal immigrants will cross the southern border from now on. This week cities have reported preparing for the massive influx of illegals.

The news is a critical element of our daily life. We should always stay informed about current events because it will affect us in some way or another.

Elon in the News

Elon Reeve Musk FRS (/ˈiːlɒn/ EE-lon; born June 28, 1971) is a business magnate and investor. He is the founder, CEO and chief engineer of SpaceX; angel investor, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; owner and CEO of Twitter, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; and president of the Musk Foundation. With an estimated net worth of around $171 billion as of December 8, 2022,[4] Musk is the wealthiest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes's real-time billionaires list.[5][6]

Elon Musk - Wikipedia

Elon, the mover, and shaker. He has created a movement to re-do the whole social media concept and truly make Twitter a free speech platform. Most of the criticism comes from the progressives, who are upset because he is letting the conservatives have a voice.

Why has it come to this?

I realize that hate speech will continually be monitored because the world is still dangerous. But the past CEO of Twitter suspended accounts based on their political views. This is also dangerous because when political thoughts are suppressed, and this continues to be the case for most news outlets. It will be a matter of time before our freedom of speech is completely gone.  And something as simple as this blog could be banished.

Patriots - Voice your opinions, and do not take this excellent freedom for granted.

Decipher

 Continuing from the last post...

Should journalists/media report all the news, good or bad?

I believe they are responsible for reporting both because they are lying to us if they don't. They are withholding the truth.

The news is so biased it is hard to decipher what is true and what is not.

Just my opinion...

The Disguised Politicians

The definition of disguised - to furnish with a false appearance or an assumed identity.

The two parts of this definition are applied to what is going on in our nation right now, the false appearance and assumed identity. In this blog entry it is the false representation.

The movement to fundamentally change the United States under the disguise of what appears to be the normal process of change, either politically, economically, racially, or geographically.

First, politically, some members of Congress and Senate give the appearance of being the great Americans who echo is the voices of the people they represent and that might be the case in certain areas of the country. But those constituents who follow the disguised politician are basically going along with their representatives who are telling them what is right for them and the country. This is dangerous, because if people are just following along with whatever their representatives say it takes away one of our rights and that is they (the politicians) do what we say and not them telling us. They are our voice and represent us and not them representing their agenda.

Second, economically, in the words of James Otis "Taxation without Representation is tyranny". Again, we go back to representation of the people. How can one person say we need to tax the rich? Who are the rich?  Where is the line between the rich and everybody else? These questions are not to be decided by one person.  I believe when such legislation comes up, we should vote, plain and simple. I realize a referendum to vote on a matter of taxes must go thru a lengthy process, but we would have that voice. Another point is if we heavily tax the rich and most of them are business owners they will pass that expense on the consumer, so in essence, the non-rich will end up paying the tax on products and services of the rich.

Third, racially, race has always been a divider not just in this country but all over the world. How does race divide us? Why are we being told at a national level of large groups of people being classified as racist? Again, this goes back to the disguise of our representatives because people will just go along with whatever they say and believe it. Prejudice is the most common form of racism, when a person judges an entire group on based on their race. I believe the United States is a representation of Americans, not a particular color, race, sex, or any other category.  We are Americans - We are One Nation under God, and as God sees us, it is not by the color of our skin. But we have politicians saying we are a racist country. This is not true. But that is not to say they do not exist. We must fight back against racism because we are Americans.

Fourth, geographically, these are the States and counties across the United States. This is the real heart of the matter. We see every day certain States and counties are either a blue (progressive) or a red (conservative). The Governors and the county representatives fall into the same category as those in Washington D.C. All of this is about the people being represented by elected officials. Now, depending on which party you fall into, progressive or conservatives or independents (the undecided) they will elect who they feel best represents them. The regions of our nation should be the voice to the President and that person again represents us.

My bottom line is until we can all come to somewhat agree on issues which will never be the case. The disguised politicians should stop saying most of the American people agree with whatever legislation, laws etc... because most of the conservatives do not agree with the socialist progressives. If you have been reading any part of this blog, you will know I am conservative.  The narrative that is in most of the media today is wrong and does not represent how I think.  In the past, the political parties would usually come to a compromise on the issues but now it is all one sided. And that side is disguised as an American representation of the people and what they are hiding is the transformation of this country to socialism.

Rise Conservatives!!

Let your voice be heard and known to others who are following the socialist's agenda blindly. Speak the truth, question them on their beliefs, educate them on the real facts. Debate is a good practice, and always be respectful.

Exercise your right to the freedom of speech.

Paper

All of us have a message, something we believe in and want to convey to others.

It seems there is a certain amount of censorship recently in all forms of media and those messages are either cancelled, deleted, or blocked.  I'm mostly referring to internet forms of communication.

Has it come to a point that we need to communicate our voice via a printed format?

What would Thomas Paine do?

Speech

The Freedom of Speech

A gift from the writers of the Bill of Rights.

Our freedom to speech and freely assemble is what makes our country great.  But when this right turns into violence and looting and destroying property it ceases to to be a right and turns into breaking the laws that govern us.  These laws just like the Constitution and Bill of rights are here to protect us, to protect our freedom.

Religion and Politics

The subject matter is sometimes considered taboo in most group settings. The consequences of such a discussion could result in an argument, but that is the sole purpose behind the freedom of speech. You have the right to voice your opinion. Where it gets tricky is when people do not know when to stop, or they lack the diplomacy to even have a discussion of this matter. If done correctly, religion and politics can be discussed openly and freely. Anyone in a conversation like this must respect the opposing person. Respect should be mutual to carry on such a debate.

Religion and politics are even debated among presidential candidates. Why are these two topics so powerful? The main reason is both have the influence to change the world. And depending on your point of view can be either good or bad. The separation of church and state is a central component of this debate. Religion is connected to politics. We as a nation have God printed on our currency, pledge allegiance under God, and open government meetings with a prayer, and in courts of law, we swear to tell the truth. Religion is very much at the roots of the founding of the United States, and we should be proud that we live in a country where it is our God-given right to practice and say how we feel.

Freedom of Speech - A Process

Freedom of Speech is the right of every citizen. The United States Constitution protects the right of speech for every citizen. We see this almost every day when someone makes a statement in public that is not politically correct and offends somebody. I sometimes feel that we need some order to this freedom of speech. Roberts's Rule of Order applies to most organized committees, clubs, and business meetings. The principles of this organized way of conducting formal meetings could be applied to private or public speeches.

Toastmasters International is an organization dedicated to the proper way of public speaking. Toastmasters, in their mission statement, say it “is to make effective communication a worldwide reality.” The organization is international, so its principles are not based on any particular government. However, Toastmasters are represented in the US Senate and the House of Representatives for counsel to its members. The course of action for any system would be voluntary, and it would not take away from our actual freedom or imply censorship. The system would have a formal way to address the public in any situation, and again the rules would be basic and not infringe on any freedom of speech.

The system could have elements like timeframes, format, and implementation. We currently have rules already in place today. For Example, a permit is the first step when a parade is organized in most cities. A parade must have order so it can safely move through the streets of a city. The order within the parade gives everyone involved the right to display their message.

Most parades on any holiday will have religious organizations, various clubs, and floats representing a message to the public. We can even take this system back to the early days of the United States. Thomas Paine wrote the Common Sense pamphlet in 1776. Common Sense was distributed throughout the colonies to spread the philosophy of independence from England. The colonists usually gathered at the town square to hear news about the upcoming revolution. This gathering at the town square was a part of everyday life in 1776. In both examples, the practice of free speech had order.
The parade would have law enforcement for traffic control and public safety, and the town square meetings of 1776 had order because it was the method of the times to dissimulate information. I believe that speakers presenting their message to the public want to have a peaceful assembly, but depending on the message, there will be someone that disagrees, and a peaceful assembly turns into a violent assembly.

This is one of the main reasons why order must be established. We have various ways to convey our message, television, the internet, and publications. Freedom of Speech can take many forms, and having the resources available to anyone to help guild them through the process could have an immense effect on our right to free speech.
I believe that having a formal design to follow would encourage the practice of free speech. Nations around the world could adopt this system, and depending on the government, it could encourage free nations to involve their citizens more in the political process.

Our forefathers fought to gain this right, and I sometimes think we forget that freedom is not free as a nation.
