The Rule of Law

In recent news, the term the rule of law has been a hot topic. The Rule of Law, in short, is the agreement of society to agree to the terms of the established laws. If we disagree with these terms, then chaos would consume society. But, due to all the recent crime events, the community has begun to ignore the established rules. I recently saw a local news report on the response time for the police to non-emergency calls. It averaged six hours. I greatly respect law enforcement, but they are few in number and cannot respond in seconds. The responsibility falls on us as individuals for our protection against criminals.

Criminals will always be in action no matter where you live, and depending on the situation, we cannot count on the authorities to come to save us. Individuals must take responsibility for their own personal security. There will come a time and possibility soon when the rule of law will collapse.

Personal security - the time is now.

Also, here is an interesting article on the rule of law

Which Side?

The times are changing.

What do I mean by this?  Society is changing, there is a clear divide between three groups. The Progressives, Conservatives, and Independents.

The influence of these three will determine who will win this struggle of power at our federal, state and local governments.

Most people are not involved politically because they really don't care until it effects them directly. Once that happens then they get involved but the problem is they do not known what the three groups or parties represent they will just go along with the flow. This is dangerous because a particular party might represent something completely opposite of your beliefs.

So, before your get involved politically do your homework and research and choose which side you are on.

The Cancel Culture

It is unbelievable how our society has changed so much in the last year almost to the point I don't feel like I live in the United States.

I understand that change is inevitable but somethings should remain constant, like the Boy Scouts should be for boys and not girls and girls sports should be for girls to compete against one another and not have to compete against boys who think they are girls. I heard about a soap product that had the word "normal" on their packaging, well someone was offended by the word normal and now they will remove it from their advertising.

2021

2021 The New Year or a continuation of 2020

I have tried to be positive about the upcoming year but it has been very difficult. The recent events of the breech of the US Capitol and continued BLM protest, it doesn't seem to be hopeful. The thought of a brighter future seems a little dim now.

My thought on this is somehow we need to find a common ground.  Politically its not going to happen anytime soon.

So, what will bring us together?

I wish a had an answer, but whatever it might be it needs to happen soon, because everyday that goes by our country will be divided even more.

A Young Nation

The United States is comparatively young to other countries and past reigns of government. The United States is 233 years old and in contrast to past established governments like the Roman Empire which reigned for over 1,000 years from 806 to 1806. And when you think about established countries like Mesopotamia (Iraq) which was formed in 4000 BC, we are a very young country. Today, the United States is one of the most modernized countries in the world and yet countries that have been around a great deal longer are still struggling to establish some form of cohesive society. The United States does have its fair share of problems, but some how we always try to improve upon on what our forefathers established in 1776 and that is what makes this country great.
