Filtered Truth

Truth is truth. Right?

I have written several blogs about truth. Follow the tagline truth to see all the ways truth is manipulated.

This post is about filtered truth. And just as a filter works on anything, it is meant to remove the unwanted and release the final wanted results.

What makes this different from other forms of filters about truth?

Most filters are not 100% effective. Truth is always the truth 100% of the time.  With that defined, let's apply the two together.

We seek truth every day.  It applies to all aspects of life, work, home, personal relationships, and most importantly, our faith. We have those truths in our lives that are known without a doubt. But we must seek and know other truths to make decisions and function in the world. This is where the filtered truth happens.

Some examples:

Work: A procedure is explained to you by a supervisor, but it is filtered by only giving you part of the information needed to perform the task.  Why? Because there is power in knowing all the truth about information and procedures of a task.

Personal Relationships: We meet and interact with people all the time. We typically expect the truth in conversation, but the reality is that conversations are filtered. This could be for various reasons, both good and bad.

Faith in God: This one is very different from the other two. The truth in faith can be manipulated to work for an agenda that is wrong, as God tells us (Proverbs 14:25).  We must accept the truth of God. The Word as we know it comes from the Bible and the tradition of the spoken Word of the Apostles, which was passed down from generation to generation. This truth can be trusted to be unfiltered and good. God will not deceive us. He gives us all we need to know. It is up to us to discover and hear His absolute truth for us and to beware of filtered truth.

Concealed Truth

Why does the truth have to be concealed?

Who has the absolute authority to conceal it?

Why does anyone have that much power?

There are a lot of questions here.

The battle continues for the truth about what happened on January 6th.

The number of people involved on the day is in the thousands. I'm sure a majority of those there expressing their right to free speech and assembly are innocent of any wrongdoing. But with that said, there are also those (progressives) who took advantage of this conservative movement and exploited a situation into an absolute conspiracy, and the January 6th committee took full advantage of their access to videos and carefully edited and selected videos to convince the public that those in the conservative party where the enemy. But now we discover the real truth; the democrats withheld information and manipulated the videos.

Another investigation will take place and the truth will be known, but time will tell as the battle continues.

Decipher

 Continuing from the last post...

Should journalists/media report all the news, good or bad?

I believe they are responsible for reporting both because they are lying to us if they don't. They are withholding the truth.

The news is so biased it is hard to decipher what is true and what is not.

Just my opinion...

Reasonable Conclusion

What is really dividing our Nation?

The United States is clearly divided on the issues of the decisions made by the Supreme Court.

Why?

Two groups of people have existed since this country's founding. But who is right or wrong? Either side will point to the other and say they are wrong. So, how does one determine the right side?

First, we have to openly look and hear both sides. Once the facts have been determined to be accurate, one can come to a reasonable conclusion.  Now, this might seem too easy, but the problem is people do not listen; their predetermined minds have already decided the answer.

The bottom line is people have stopped listening. They do not want to know the truth. I realize people have experiences, traditions, and history that shape their thinking.  But for a civilized society to function, we must listen to one another, and clearly, not all will agree - what is the absolute truth?

What is Truth?

Is it something we hear or read?

Is it something we determine?

Is it a rule or law?

Does it come from God?

I think all of these, at some point, would be true.

The next question is, what do we trust?

This helps us to determine what is truth. We can hear a statement that tells us that it is "the truth," but how do we know it? The assessment is then all on us to accept or reject. We also have to consider our own knowledge, which is a significant factor because if we do not have any prior knowledge of the truth, it could readily be accepted. Rules and laws have been determined to be fact-based, but do we just follow them? I think in the majority of cases, yes.

I am trying to explain the truth because the world is going crazy now.  Almost every day, we can tune in to the latest news and ask ourselves, "is that really true? It's hard to believe"

The only absolute truth comes from God. So, how does God's truth apply to all the events in the world?

We have to pray, read the Bible, and follow the experiences of the Saints. We have a base of knowledge of truth in God. If we follow His commandments and teachings, it will guide us to all matter's truth.

Psalm 25:5

"Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You, I wait all the day."

1 Corinthians 2:5

"so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God."

Political Truth Reporting

Reporting the truth in politics is nonexistent.

In the last couple of years the term "misinformation" has become a word that is incorporated in everything we do, except politics.  The recent report from Special Counsel John Durham about allegations of Russian "collusion" in the 2016 presidential election is not begin reported in the news media.

This should be a requirement to report to the public such news as this and to deprive this information should be a crime.  If in social media you say something about the vaccine, it is fact checked and if you are not follow the standard authorized statement you are penalized. So, why is the news media not being penalized? - because they are reporting their agenda and not the truth.

Hillary Clinton and all those involved with spying and creating false information on the 45th President of the United States should be prosecuted.

Their Way

Just a bit of a rant about opinions. I have a few as most people do and usually when opinions are expressed it is because one person is trying to convince another to lean their way, and that is the way it works. But when people just accept a particular opinion without reasoning and accepting of a view just because someone said so, is crazy. Opinions should take in consideration the source - whose opinion is it? - have they been reliable in the past? - are their opinions respected? - or can they be trusted?

How can someone just read or hear an opinion in the media and accept as the absolute truth?

Opinions have to be evaluated by yourself - is it right or wrong? - good or evil?
