Their Way

Just a bit of a rant about opinions. I have a few as most people do and usually when opinions are expressed it is because one person is trying to convince another to lean their way, and that is the way it works. But when people just accept a particular opinion without reasoning and accepting of a view just because someone said so, is crazy. Opinions should take in consideration the source - whose opinion is it? - have they been reliable in the past? - are their opinions respected? - or can they be trusted?

How can someone just read or hear an opinion in the media and accept as the absolute truth?

Opinions have to be evaluated by yourself - is it right or wrong? - good or evil?

TV Shows

What is the problem with some of the shows broadcast on major networks?

Immorality

Take a moment to analyze some of the shows on the three networks (ABC, NBC, CBS). Some shows will state a caution message on some of the more violent but the other shows no message at all, until you go into watching the show and in the middle you are shocked by some scenes you were not expecting. Some would be explicit enough to have a movie rating (R).

Next time you watch a new show evaluate it. Is it immoral?

Ethical Politics

Is this even possible?

Should we hold politicians to a higher standard?

Should we accept unethical practices in government?

In a democracy this should not be an acceptable practice. The politicians that represent the people should be of the highest standard. Moreover the people that vote should consider the candidates ethical practices.

If politicians do not hold themselves to a higher standard and fall to corruption and unethical practices, it is our right to take them out of office.
